About Peter Lam

I am a senior technology leader with a rare global profile, driven to scale innovation from enterprise-grade systems at Cisco to VC-backed startups in Asia. My career is a story of two halves that create a unique whole. I spent the first half architecting and managing massive, high-impact cloud networking platforms at tech giants like Cisco in Silicon Valley. The second half was a conscious deep dive into the entrepreneurial trenches in Hong Kong—where I learned to build companies, products, and teams from scratch. This path has given me a unique hybrid skill set: I design with the scale and reliability of a global enterprise. I execute with the speed, resourcefulness, and market focus of a VC-backed founder. And I connect the two—bringing startup agility to large organizations, and enterprise rigor to fast-growing ventures. Core Competencies Zero-to-One Entrepreneurship (Asia) As a founder and advisor, I have taken companies from idea to award-winning success. I have built Ola Tech, a circular economy marketplace, achieving 8× revenue growth (backed by Mucker Capital). I also guided startups to major wins, including 1st Place at the HKUST-Sino $1M Competition, and my previous startup has been a finalist at MIPIM Global Startup. Generative AI, Cloud, and Product Strategy (US & Asia) As an AWS Certified Solutions Architect and AI Practitioner with hands-on experience on Azure, I design and build robust, scalable cloud-native and AI-native solutions. I have deployed everything from GenAI platforms and computer vision models to high-traffic e-commerce sites on Kubernetes. Enterprise-Scale System Design and Product Management (US) My background includes architecting some of the world's largest networks. I was a key architect for AT & T U-verse, one of the first converged IP video/data networks. At Cisco, I managed a multi-billion-dollar data center portfolio and drove projects that laid the foundation for today's cloud-scale infrastructure. Beyond technology, I serve on the Board of the Rotary Club of the Channel Islands, where I lead charity initiatives and fundraising efforts to support local and international community projects. I am currently augmenting this hands-on experience with a scholarship-supported Digital MBA for global leaders at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), with a GPA of 4.03.
