About Peter Landgren

I love designing, building, testing, and deploying robotics systems, and using control theory and analytical results to improve their design. My current thesis work focuses on the Multi-armed Bandit problem, which is a canonical decision-making framework in machine learning. I am addressing this problem for multi-agent systems, gaining insights into how teams can make effective decisions and communicate efficiently. I’m currently applying this work as part of a team building radiation mapping robots. We’ve made several ground robots that can map spaces autonomously to find radioactive hotspots in sensitive locations. I’m the robotics lead for this project and have built up both the software and hardware stack. In the past at Princeton I’ve worked extensively on underwater robots, helped found Princeton’s first makerspace, and supervised 12 undergraduate interns. I greatly enjoy getting my hands dirty and trying new, interesting things! I will be graduating this Fall and am looking to work on exciting and ambitious projects in private industry.
