About Peter Leong

Peter has over 17 years of experience in the oil and gas industry working as a geologist. During this time he has made instrumental contributions in exploration, development and A&D roles with a variety of organizations. Early on in his career he obtained his Professional Geologist Status with APEGA which he has maintained to this day. Peter graduated with highest distinction from the University of Victoria while earning his Bachelor of Sciences Honours in 1997. Upon graduation he secured a coveted summer contract followed by an immediate permanent offer from Petro Canada Oil and Gas. Success at optimizing value through new ideas, attention to detail and coordinated interdisciplinary efforts within teams lead to increasing roles with properties throughout Alberta and British Columbia. A move to EnCana’s U.S. Gas Storage division followed where, as the principal geologist, he provided technical expertise and supervision for development expansion programs, reservoir characterizations and contractors. This role also provided an opportunity to apply his technical skills to various U.S. sub-basins that were distinct from Western Canada. In 2006 Peter joined Chamaelo Exploration, which later became Crocotta Energy Inc, where he was instrumental in identifying resource plays, A&D evaluation and development of EOR programs while all the while executing multiple drilling programs. He thrived in the fast paced environment of a small cap E&P company remaining with the venture from its inception as a 200 BOE start up until its sale as a BOE producer.
