About Peter Loxton

Since establishing Peter Loxton & Associates Pty Ltd (PLA) in 2008, I have undertaken many satisfying and successful consultancies and have developed very positive ongoing client relationships and extensive networks in both government and business. My work with PLA has included high-level strategy, analysis, advice, many diverse reviews, as well as extensive mentoring and executive coaching. My consulting has included leadership; management; government; arts and culture; governance; media and innovation; Indigenous policy and delivery; digital/ICT; public safety; communications and marketing; and regional issues. Prior to PLA, I worked for many years with two State Governments and the Australian Government. My experience included 25 years in several senior executive roles with international, national and state-wide responsibilities for up to 2500 staff and budgets in excess of $300 million. Over a decade from 1997, I worked as Assistant Director General in four roles in NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, and acted as Director General of 5 agencies. My Board experience includes Sydney Festival, State Records, Museums and Galleries NSW, Board member and Chair of Carriageworks from 2011, and Chair of NSW Health Pathology for six years from 2016 to 2022. During 24 years working across Australia and globally with the ABC, I had extensive executive management experience, including five years as Head of ABC Radio. My management and editorial responsibilities included all staff and programs from all departments (including News & Current Affairs) on all networks and online. I also led technology strategy. At PLA I strive to provide quality, independent, innovative, valued, strategic consulting services. I have energy and passion for ideas, innovation and transformation. I enjoy working with people and organisations planning for and implementing new goals, strategies, structures and approaches to managing emerging challenges and changing expectations.
