Now semi-retired in a northern suburb of Atlanta.(a mere 10-minute walk to the Braves stadium complex and only a 15-minute walk to the closest Waffle House - life is good! Here's a thumbnail of my professional career: 7 years in the Army's "Navy"(Transportation Corps, Marine Terminal branch), where I was the platoon leader at Ft. Eustis for a tug boat company, the OIC of a salvage diving team, XO on Ford Island HI for a company of large landing craft and finally a member of the Movement Control Center for Airborne Corps at Ft. Bragg. Since 2002 I have been the Co-Owner of BookMarx used bookstore, until we sold it in March 2023. In tandem with owning the bookstore, I had two other jobs to ensure we had proper medical insurance. First, I worked for the federal government at GSA as a Building Management Specialist / Contracting Officers Representative in downtown Pittsburgh and then at the Federal Courthouse in Downtown Wheeling, WV. Second, I was a ROW Manager for Western Land Services in eastern PA, managing landmen and title agents on several oil and gas pipeline projects throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. My professional career was in commercial real estate between my military service and the bookstore. For over 20 years, I worked for some of the US's most prestigious commercial real estate firms (Cushman & Wakefield, Grubb and Ellis, and Charles E. Smith). At Cushman & Wakefield, I managed a team responsible for all of GTE's real estate on the East Coast. I was also Equifax's VP of Facilities and Services at their Tampa FL campus and Director of Real Estate and Facilities in North and South America for a worldwide organization based in Geneva, Switzerland – SITA.
