Energetic and enthusiastic all-round people's manager. A dedicated professional with an extensive experience in (marine) engineering, innovation, project management and commissioning. A team builder who is driven by his ability to optimize team output, coherence and performance through innovation and management by objectives. Extensive experience in optimizing marine technical operations and the introduction of proven CRM concepts from the aviation industry adapted for shipboard use. An open and approachable multilingual personality who excels in pushing back technological boundaries in marine operations and in the management of multicultural teams. Has managed overall fiscal and financial responsibilities in a CAPEX decision making role. Proficient in training staff, developing and implementing training programmes and transferring knowledge. Has initiated and been involved in a number of research studies related to Ballast Water Treatment, Rapid Detection of IMO specified Micro Organisms in water, Integral Performance Measurements of Ship's Diesel Engines, Combustion Analysis, Fuel saving and "Carbon Footprint" reduction of Merchant Navy Vessels. I qualified in March 2025 as consultant/trainer in human behavioural analysis after a training provided by DISC Benelux. I've been a private pilot for over 30 years in between 1986 and 2018. In the years - 2006 I also flew commercial for my own company to many destinations in Europe. I have a keen interest still in aviation, CRM techniques, communication skills, development of checklists, SOP's and relevant training material. My aviation experience has given me a huge advantage in my Maritime role on board of cruise ships and my responsibility to sail the ship at maximum levels of safety -and compliance.
