About Peter McArdle

Peter McArdle is an American artist from NYC who utilizes story sometimes as means of self-expression; enough so he's comfortable writing, and even lets people call him a writer if they think it fits. When it comes to the writing itself, he says "about art" is preferable to "as art." He earned a BFA from RIT's prestigious School of Photography in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, arriving in 1995, the same year RIT stopped teaching image capture on chemical substrates and closed the chemical dark rooms. He was an early adopter of digital technology as it applied to imaging, 10 years before anyone was ever called an early adopter. He was unafraid of technological innovation in service of art and creative self-expression and became adept at digital tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere as far back as '94. Digital photography, high-definition video, nonlinear video editing, compositing, image editing, Web and UI design, digital postproduction and content creation for social media have kept him busy for the last 25 years. He first logged on to the Internet in 1993, and has worked there ever since. Prior to that he was a graphic designer for print publications. In his role as Producer/Principal at Motion Media Inc, Peter McArdle has consulted for some of the most well-known and prestigious companies and organizations in the world, including: Ziff-Davis, Xerox, Element K, Time Inc, People Magazine, Lancôme, Chevy Trucks, Country Music Awards, WJDowd Inc (NYSE), Bowne Management Systems, PricewaterhouseCoopers, RouteSmart Technologies, John Wiley and Sons, the United Nations, Sanef-ITS and a half dozen others.
