About Peter McCann Strain

With over nine years of interdisciplinary research and entrepreneurial experience, I am an AI Engineer at SThree, where I develop various Large Language Model and agent-based approaches at scale across the company as part of technological transformations. My focus is on deploying cutting-edge AI solutions in real business use cases to increase profitability and productivity. Previously, as a Computer Vision Engineer at Astroscale, I developed and implemented state-of-the-art pose estimation, Generative Adversarial Networks, and other machine learning pipelines for satellite operations. My work involved applying deep learning techniques to solve complex and novel challenges in the space domain, such as debris removal and orbital sustainability. My passion for technology and science stems from my academic background in physics and a PhD in clinical medicine/deep learning, where I gained expertise in medical science, histopathology, statistics, and machine learning. During my PhD, I developed cutting-edge pipelines for end-to-end histology analysis by utilising state-of-the-art object detection, image classification, segmentation, self-supervised learning, and statistical analysis. As the Founder of Datamise Solutions, I created and delivered innovative AI-driven solutions that enhanced business growth and decision-making processes for various clients, including a major UK union. Notably, I developed a legal claims valuation app from scratch, which quickly and effectively allows lawyers to negotiate hundred million pound equal pay claims. Additionally, I worked on a claims management system that facilitated data collection, cleaning, and preparation for legal arguments in mass equal pay claims. This system streamlined the legal process by improving data quality in real time and provided an easy-to-understand interface. I also developed a legal case management system to support lawyers in organising and managing their cases more efficiently. Currently, I am working on several unpublished businesses in development. I am developing an AI-based feedback system designed to revolutionise feedback for organisations across the UK. This system aims to enhance organisational performance by providing insightful, real-time feedback mechanisms. Additionally, I am establishing an AI consultancy to help educate businesses on how to make the most of the AI revolution, ensuring they stay competitive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. I am passionate about contributing to impactful projects and driving innovation through the application of advanced tech.
