About Peter McDonell

Peter McDonell is a director and shareholder of Perkins Thompson and serves as the chair of the firm’s Real Estate Law Practice Group. He also is a member of the firm’s Banking and Financial Services and Business and Corporate Law Practice Groups. Since joining the firm in 2007, Pete has worked with businesses and individuals in a wide range of transactions, including the acquisition, financing, development, operation, leasing, and sale of commercial, residential, and industrial real estate. In addition to transactional real estate matters, he regularly works with financial institutions in connection with various aspects of their operational, credit, finance, and regulatory practices. Pete’s practice is broad: his recent engagements include the representation of a privately held corporation in connection with its acquisition and development of facilities throughout the northeast; the representation of a regional commercial lender with respect to all aspects of its lending practice; the representation of small businesses in the negotiation of retail, office, and industrial leases; the representation of a condominium developer and association through all phases of condominium development and management; and the representation of a real estate development company in connection with its lease and development of a Portland hotel. Pete is an active member of the Maine Real Estate and Development Association, the Real Estate and Title Section of the Maine Bar Association, and the Real Property Law Section of the New Hampshire Bar Association.
