About Peter McKelvy

I am the co-founder and Managing Partner of Northern Re, a New York and Cayman based alternative asset group focused on securitizing risk in the casualty reinsurance space. Having founded Northern Re with my brother Anthony, I spend my time focusing on bringing modern technology and practices to drive our growth as a young player in the industry. I also serve as the Chairman of Park Agency, the Kennedy family office built on four generations of familial success across public service, philanthropy and business. Before venturing into reinsurance, I spent years as a Product leader managing multiple engineering teams at various startups. Joining Uber when it was still a black car company I had the opportunity to establish and lead the technology compliance function. It was at Uber that I got my first exposure to insurance and reinsurance. After five years with the company, I left to become VP Product at Boost Insurance, responsible for the company’s strategy and technology build. While there our team created a platform that propelled revenue growth from $0 to $100 million. Outside of my professional career I am committed to service, volunteering with groups like Best Buddies, Special Olympics and RFK Human Rights. Finally, In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time outdoors exploring National Parks. I hold a BA with honors from Bucknell University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. I am also licensed as a director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
