About Peter McLeod

I have been a university professor for over 25 years, teaching a variety of psychology courses (mostly research design and analyses courses, developmental psychology courses, and most recently Psychology of gender courses). I also served as Director of Research and Graduate Studies (now a "Dean"​ position). I have considerable experience with governance: I served for six years on the Board of Governors of Acadia University (2007-2013) and served on the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation from 2003-2013 where a Policy Governance model is closely followed. I am also a director of the Adrian Campbell Scholarship Fund. My research interests have been quite varied but with some focus on mental and sexual health of undergraduate students and health service to students. Currently, I am involved in collaborative research that examines models of Opioid Replacement Therapy delivery and another project examining Sexual Health and Health Service needs of University Students in the Maritime provinces. I retired from Acadia University on July 1st, 2014 and am now Professor Emeritus and Adjunct Professor in the Psychology Department there. I am looking for opportunities to use my interests and expertise in Program Evaluation and decision making in new and challenging roles. I am also looking for short term teaching contracts in interesting locals (e.g, I taught two courses at Quest University of Canada during the fall of 2015).
