About Peter Meij

I’m primarily focused on Data Engineering for Modern Data Platform, with 16+ years of experience in data warehousing, SQL, and ETL, 6+ years experience in Azure Paas Data Platform services, as well as several years of experience in Purview, Power BI (Premium), and Azure DevOps. From 2024 I’m fully focusing on Databricks Data Engineering, in particular Lakehouse and Unity Catalog. As consultant for Avanade I’ve had client project roles as (Sr) BI Developer,(Sr) Designer, SQL developer, Tech Lead, Agile Engineer, Solution Architect and Data Engineer. Through my career at Avanade I’ve been involved in various initiatives such as giving subject matter training, teaching Dutch to colleagues (and leading that initiative as well), being a buddy for new joiners, and participating in ideation sessions and hackathons. Next to this, I’ve also had the following +1 roles: Avanade Netherlands Works Council (OR) member (one tenure of 3 years), intern supervisor for graduate interns, and since 2022 I’m a Career Adviser. This last role is a formal people lead and line manager role, with (among other things) the responsibility to represent the advisee during the Mid Year and Annual performance review cycle in the review board. I’m a certified Scrum Master, Azure Solution Architect, and Databricks Data Engineer Associate (among other certifications). My interests include dancing, miniature painting, role playing games (DND), and casual gaming.
