About Peter Morovic

With a background in computer science and mathematics I have specialized in computational color, 2D/3D imaging and applied machine learning with 18+ years experience in an industrial, product driven environment. My skills span fundamental research and development/productization of color workflows and pipelines and my work has resulted in 180+ patent applications (150 of which granted) and 60+ refereed journal and conference papers to date. A key contribution has been the co-invention of HP Pixel Control with my brother Ján in 2007, which first shipped in the HP Designjet Z6 and Z9+ products in May 2018 and continues to be deployed in the HP Large Format portfolio. Areas of Expertise- color output pipelines (2D/3D printing: halftoning, color separation, characterization and optimization for print attributes, spectral and colorimetric printer characterization, calibration)- color input pipelines (white balancing, color correction, device characterization)- image processing and analysis, color management, computational modeling of color vision, computational photography, spectral analysis and reproduction - computational geometry, numerical optimization, convex/linear programming, parallel algorithm design and extensive applications of ML/AI methods in the color imaging context
