About Peter Murvai

It is funny to look back at my professional life and try summarizing it in a paragraph or two. One thing is certain - I can consider myself fortunate to have worked for multinational companies. Their values (even though they may sometimes seem or sound hollow or outright hypocritical) ultimately creep into your mind and make a nest there. And I do not really mind it. They helped me grow to be a better person, husband and father. My career started at DHL and continued at BP and at both companies I learnt quite a lot. About the companies and about myself too. I know that I am no longer capable of doing repetitive, mindless jobs for too long (sure, they are fun on the short run, to turn you off a bit); I know that managers are not superhumans, just people who chose to lead others, for better or worse; and I know that I still haven't got the faintest about what I would really *love* to do. But I will find it eventually. And until I do, I just try to enjoy whatever is coming, do my best, help my friends and colleagues, and try to grow further. But not around my waistline. I don't want to grow there any more.
