SUMMARY Peter “retired “ on 31 March 2017 to become an independent consultant to the Valhalla Group and a number of other businesses including property, electronic media, film and TV. Peter continues to be busy but more involved with those interests which engage him most. In 2020, Peter rejoined Valhalla PCS LLP as a Partner to cover the retirement of John Fields! Peter began his HMRC career in 1970 and has many years’ experience in the field of taxation for individuals, businesses, trusts and corporate clients both in the UK and internationally. Previously an Inspector of Taxes (1970 to 1984) before joining KPMG as a tax consultant (1984 to 1989) and moving on to join Rawlinson & Hunter in London (1989 to 1994). He became a Tax Partner in a Bedford firm, Rawlinson Pryde, until 1997. Following which he set up his own practice. In April 2014, after a period of ill health, Peter set up Valhalla Private Client Services to provide a boutique tax consultancy and planning, mitigation and compliance service for private businesses and high net worth individuals, accountants and IFA's. There is a strong emphasis on business structuring advice and HMRC enquiries. The Valhalla practice has also advised on numerous statutory tax breaks including SEIS and EIS - Enterprise Investment Schemes. These are promoted via the regulated - -website. Peter has been closely involved with the independent film sector as a producer and financier and is an Associate member of BAFTA.
