About Peter Nocito

Being a lifelong learner is the trait you need to navigate through life. I’ve spent a career teaching skills that help people understand the world around them and how their attitudes toward and application of new learning can affect the direction that their careers and lives move in. From teaching in a classroom, to coaching other professionals, I love helping others find ways to navigate the world. My passion for helping others maneuver through their environment was put in high gear when I was a consultant educator. I found myself in a high stress, high-stakes, time-sensitive position, developing training plans and interventions to coach emerging educators struggling to engage learners. My first question to these professionals was always “tell me how you got here.” Information would flood out about feeling unsupported, underprepared, underequipped, stressed, and most often, feeling totally alone. Taking into account their stories and experiences while also consulting evaluative metrics helped me build performance plans that addressed their immediate needs, like training on new programming while also allowing me to create long-term learning opportunities for the teachers. This holistic approach to performance improvement led to better learner engagement, improved relationships with colleagues and supervisors, and better work-life balance for the educators. I am a natural performer and storyteller. I use these skills to deliver training and learning to a wide variety of stakeholders. I’m also a great listener, which is fundamental in storytelling and training. Through active listening and analyzing metrics, I can get to the root cause of performance issues. Through collaboration with learning stakeholders I am able to develop performance plans that are timely, thoughtful, and practical. I can help people navigate their world by listening, planning, coaching, and providing them with practical, thoughtful feedback that will make their journeys better immediately.
