About Peter Palena

My name is Pete Palena and I am currently a R&D Project Manager for BD in their Advanced Drug Delivery System group based out of Franklin Lakes, NJ. I began my career as an engineer with Stryker. I started working for Stryker at their Orthobiologics division in Malvern, PA in March of 2013 as a co-op student as part of Drexel University’s Co-op Program. I relocated to the Spine division in Allendale, NJ in November 2016. My educational background is in Material Science and Engineering with a concentration in Nuclear Engineering; however, as an intern at Stryker I focused mainly on product and packaging stability for medical devices. As a full time employee, I worked on Risk Management for new product development as well as sustaining support activities. After Stryker, I moved to Merck supporting their Combination Product sustaining activities as part of the Technical Operations Team. In addition to routine product support (Change Control, CAPAs, Complaint Investigations) I helped develop Merck's Global Procedures for Combination Product Risk Management, Complaints, and Adverse Event Reporting. I grew up in South Jersey and currently live in Ringwood, NJ. I attended high school in Wilmington, DE (Salesianum Class of 2010) which is where the rest of my family currently resides. Outside of work, I enjoy getting outside either hiking or camping and have recently developed a love for running. During my five years at Drexel, I enjoying every type of sporting event I could in the city of Philadelphia, which reinforced my lifelong passion for Phiadelphia Sports teams.
