About Peter Park

I've recently made a huge change in my career and that can be a very scary and difficult decision, especially when it involves leaving a job you love. I recently decided to make such a change, leaving my cooking career after 6 years and after finally getting into a Michelin starred restaurant to become a sales consultant. This decision was not easy, but I felt it was the right one for me. When I first began working in the restaurant, I was excited to be part of a prestigious establishment and to learn the ins and outs of the culinary world. I then realized that the work was incredibly demanding and involved long hours. Though I could endure it and was still passionate about the art of cooking and enjoyed the challenge, I could not see myself doing it for long term and began to feel like I was stuck in a rut and needed a change. I started to think about what other career paths would be a good fit for me. I knew that I wanted to stay in the hospitality industry but also wanted to expand my skills and experience. After researching various opportunities, I decide to pursue a career in sales consulting. I knew that this field would allow me to use my interpersonal skills and knowledge of the hospitality industry in a different way. Making the transition from the restaurant industry to sales consultant was not easy especially because that was all I knew and did since 16 years old, but I am glad I made the decision. I have already learned a lot in my new role, and I am excite to continue to grow and develop my skills. I am also grateful for the experience I gained in the restaurant, which has helped me to better understand the hospitality industry and to be successful in my new career. Making a career change can be scary, but it can also be incredibly rewarding.
