About Peter Parsons

In 2025, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a minor in Nonprofit Management from Kennesaw State University. Before attending Kennesaw State University in 2023, I lived in Shanghai, China, from 2012 to 2022. Living in Shanghai was a great experience; however, starting around 2018, geopolitical tension, trade wars, COVID-19, and other internal policies made living there difficult. While living in China, I traveled to Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Yunnan Province, Hainan Island, Hong Kong, Xiamen, Japan, South Korea, and the Maldives. I enjoyed experiencing the different culture and being a part of their society. Living in China opened my mind to many possibilities in life. While living in Shanghai, I worked as a high school Academic English teacher. Being a teacher helped me develop a passion for relational work. After 10 years of being an English teacher, I decided I wanted to change jobs. Thus, I went back to school to become a qualified human service practitioner. Currently, I am applying for jobs doing social services work. In addition, next year I will begin my master's level courses in social work. Some of my interests are music, art, crystals, and cats. I like going to live music shows and dancing. I like to create and appreciate art. I like a wide range of art genres and believe artistic expression is part of a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, I find crystals to be some of the most beautiful objects on Earth. I like to go to crystal mines and dig to see what I can find. Finally, I have been around and raised cats since I was 7 years old. I have two cats that are cute, sweet, and sophisticated. I think having pets such as cats and dogs enriches the lives of their caretakers.
