About Peter S. Berger

I am currently a Firefighter/Paramedic and full time Fire Inspector for Broward Sheriff's Office Department of Fire Rescue and the National Education Coordinator for the Firefighter Cancer Foundation. I am also a community educator teaching classes as varied as CERT, BLS, HCP, PALS, and ACLS. In May of 2016, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Emergency Management from Oklahoma State University. I would like to provide emergency management leadership to a private or public entity utilizing my knowledge of preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Having a fire background, I can provide the strong guidance required during a mass casualty incident and any other emergent situation requiring immediate action. I am also the National Education Coordinator for the Firefighter Cancer Foundation. I received this great honor after the risk analysis that I co-authored got published. I am going to be working with Columbia Southern University and Waldorf University on the first Cancer in the Fire Service curriculum so that we can start to teach our future officers how to help to protect our men and women of the fire service. I have also been asked to be a part of a 9 month expose written by a syndicated newspaper on the Cancer in the Fire Service. I am an accomplished public speaker, speaking on platforms based on Cancer and ways to change our future in the fire service. I have spoken at national. regional, and local conferences. I can and have spoken on all platforms from live to online. I look forward to sharing my personal experiences, strength, and hope to all who need to be inspired and want to make the changes in their own lives and careers.
