About Peter Schimmann

My passion is using the hidden beauties of words and numbers (aka precise legal documentation and sound financial management) to de-risk investments and business operations. As attorney admitted in Germany with an M.B.A. degree, I have been advising companies for over 30 years on a wide range of cross-border transactions in the fields of energy, real estate, corporate law and project finance in various jurisdictions in Western and Eastern Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and North and South America. I have worked from offices in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, London, Milan, Paris, Barcelona and Tokyo. Two places have a special place in my private and business life: Asia/Pacific with a focus on Japan, where I lived and worked for several years, and Latin America with a focus on Colombia, where I have family. I have been assisting clients with inbound and outbound transactions in both regions for over 20 years. I have knowledge and experience in a wide range of industries and jurisdictions and am fluent in six languages. I offer my clients the role of lead counsel for the management of cross-border legal processes or transactions and efficient management of advice by specialised lawyers in the markets in which the clients operate. In addition, I have a valuable network of business contacts, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America. Having spent most of my professional life in major law firms until 2012, I have since worked as an independent advisor to selected global family offices and owner-managed businesses as well as in renewable energy and property development with global reach.
