About Peter Shea
I earned my bachelor's in physics from UW-Milwaukee where I will also earn a master’s degree in mechanical engineering in December 2023. I gravitated my studies towards optical engineering with a focus in 3D imaging flow cytometry. I am very fortunate to work under Dr. Yongjin Sung, the patent holder of snapshot projection optical tomography (SPOT) – the core component in my research. So far, we have confirmed our custom system can run for 20 minutes at a rate of 30 cells/sec, resulting in over 4D (3 spatial, 1 intensity) reconstructed images with resolution of 1.2 μm.
