About Peter Sullivan

I am a licensed surveyor in Victoria. An active member of the surveying profession, I have been a director for 17 years of various Victorian surveying firms, and over 40 as a member of the surveying profession in Victoria. During that time, I have represented the profession through the Institution of Surveyors Victoria (ISV) on many industry related committees, including committees relating to the updating of legislation concerning the governance and regulation of surveying, and the subdivisional process. I was the ISV president in 2004, and have held many offices within that organisation spanning four decades, and am a Fellow of that Institution. I was awarded the President's Award in 2005 for outstanding service to the profession. I became licensed in 1981 after completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (Surveying) in 1979 at RMIT. I was also licensed in NSW between 1990 and 1994. I have extensive experience in the land development industry in Victoria. My involvement in the development of Victoria includes surveying for improvements to the racecourse industry in Victoria, the development and improvement in the inner west for the Maribyrnong City Council and many industrial, residential and commercial land and building subdivisions. I have extensive knowledge of the subdivision of land and buildings, law relating to the creation and removal of easements and rights, adverse possession and amendment of titles. I was an examiner of projects for surveying candidates prior to my appointment to the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria (SRBV) from 1 November 2013 until 30 April 2024. I am a member of The Association of Consulting Surveyors Victoria and the Victorian Planning & Environmental Law Association. For over a decade, I have been dedicated to growing the Stantec Geospatial team. With organic growth and acquisitions, I am a senior member of a team of over 30 survey staff based in Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat.
