PETER T. SAILOR VICE PRESIDENT GROUP BENEFIT SOLUTIONS CLAIMS OPERATIONS Peter T. Sailor is the vice president in charge of the company’s Group Benefit Solutions Claims Operations. He is responsible for the overall operation of the group short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, accidental death insurance, voluntary/supplemental health insurance and absence management claims departments as well the intake and call centers. New York Life ranks number one in the 2021 Fortune World’s Most Admired Companies list for Insurance: Life and Health. Mr. Sailor began his group insurance career in 1997 at Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company as the Director of Claims Litigation where he held roles of increasing responsibility including Assistant Vice President in the Group Insurance Claims Department. He joined the Cigna Group Insurance Legal Department in 2017, and was promoted to Chief Counsel, Group Insurance. When Cigna Group Insurance was acquired by New York Life Insurance Company in 2021, Mr. Sailor transitioned to the role of Vice President & Associate General Counsel. He was promoted to the position of Vice President of Group Benefit Solutions Claims Operations in April, 2021. Mr. Sailor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He also earned an J.D.(Juris Doctor) and a certificate in Employee Benefits Law Temple University in Philadelphia. He has held the FLMI, CLU and ChFC professional designations. He resides in Ocean City, NJ with his wife and three sons.
