About Peter Thordarson

As a broadcast engineering veteran, I leverage my 35 years of combined experience in radio, TV, and corporate media production to deliver innovative and efficient solutions for live production and video operations. I have worked for media and tech industry leaders such as FOX, DirecTV, Ericsson, Microsoft, and Diversified where I gained extensive knowledge and skills in Event Production, C-Suite Corporate Comms, MPEG compression systems, transport standards (SMPTE), core transport routing systems, cellular/IP encoding systems, and satellite uplink/downlink facilities. I am a consultant at Sports Video Group, where I co-founded and serve as the Program Chair for the Silicon Valley Video Group, a subsidiary of SVG that connects and educates broadcast engineers, creatives, and executives in the tech and corporate media sector. I am also a team lead and mentor for video operations for shipboard and ROV camera systems on the E/V Nautilus, a research vessel operated by the Ocean Exploration Trust. My mission is to share my passion and expertise in broadcast engineering with the next generation of professionals and to contribute to the advancement of broadcast technology and dissemination of knowledge of this incredible industry. I currently work at Diversified as a Principal Consultant. As a consultant, I leverage my compliment of industry experiences and insights to provide right-sized solutions for M&E and storyteller teams across many different core industries.
