Sometimes I wonder -"I am either very lucky or very good".(joke) I look back and see that I have been in the right place at the right time for events that happened in my career. I have worked hard to develop my own business within the engineering business with a high end product. I have taken products which have had a low turnover and developed them into leading brands within whatever sector of industry that they apply. As an agent I feel its a 3 way job, when I am with the client I work for the supplier and when I am with the supplier I sometimes have to work for the customer. I also believe that I can only service one sector of the market. IE - you cannot supply both the wholesaler and the end user. This has helped in the development of all the products I have sold. Our thinking on this issue is that we appoint a wholesaler who can then sell the product in the knowledge that they can sell free from the fear that their customer might try to purchase directly and also that we will not approach their clients allowing them to develop the product to its maximum. Using this method has help to maintain our customer base and developed a bond between the customer, agent and manufacturing company which have lasted the test of time. I am also director of a childcare business with my wife which we have developed into our own brand of childcare which in different to most other services on the market, our style is simple -"Never forget - its the children that matter"
