About Peter Troffe

Mr. Troffe offers over 20 years of applied experience as a fisheries biologist and environmental assessment practitioner. Peter takes pride in drawing from his diverse experience to develop tangible solutions for his clients. He has worked within both the public and private sectors and acted as the technical lead on several high profile mining, hydropower, and linear development projects. Qualification Summary • Extensive experience conceptualizing, conducting and reporting on fish and aquatic studies to support environmental assessments for complex mining, public/private hydro power, and linear development projects. • Comprehensive knowledge of the behaviour, ecology and distribution of marine and freshwater fish fauna in North America (former Curator of Fishes at the Royal BC Museum, and Science Branch Biologist with Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Canada). • Experience investigating the effects of flow alteration on fish habitat and fish populations including long-term monitoring studies for mining clients, BC Hydro Water Use Programs and several independent hydropower projects. • Excellent working relationship with several First Nations, federal and provincial regulatory communities (DFO, CEAA, MOE/MFLNRO & BCEAA), polished presentation skills and knowledge of engineering and permitting requirements for development projects in Canada. • Peer reviewed publications and high level presentations
