About Peter Vanpatten

I have been with Nationwide's SIU Organization for the past 21 years in various leadership positions and led Nationwide's Special Ops team for 12 years. Our Special Ops Team serves as Nationwide's liaison to over 125 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. My team provides innovative solutions to law enforcement agencies in the form of anti-fraud/anti-crime programs in the fight against insurance fraud and insurance related crime. Prior to my current position, I had rewarding 20 year career with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department in Syracuse New York. During my career at the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department I served as the Detective Supervisor of the Special Victim's Unit, Coordinator of the Onondaga County Sexual Offender Tracking Program, Detective Supervisor of the Major Crimes Section, K-9 Specialist, and uniformed patrol officer I am a graduate of the State University of New York as well as the New York State Regional Police Academy. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master’s Degree in Human Services/Psychological Services. In addition to my current position at Nationwide, I have been Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice with the State University of New York at OCC since 1991
