About Peter Webb

My approach to HSE management is simple - it’s a combination of leadership and collaboration. My leadership inspires my clients to believe that they can deliver outstanding HSE performance. My collaboration helps me step into their shoes and deliver fit for purpose solutions to achieve that ambition. My clients have included senior leaders in LyondellBasell, a global S & P500 petrochemicals manufacturing company. Working as a team we have delivered industry leading HSE performance at the same time as being honoured as one of Fortune Magazine's "World's Most Admired Companies” for 2018, 2019 and 2020. I work with people at all levels. I can engage and motivate front line staff to stimulate outstanding safety behaviours. And I can coach and advise senior vice presidents on strategy and management practices. I am able to be effective regardless of the national context in which I am working, with experience spanning Europe, Asia, North America and Australia. Many organisations find their HSE performance reaches a plateau, yet stakeholders demand continual improvement. Having put in place the familiar and conventional technical and management system HSE arrangements, organisations need innovative solutions to move beyond the plateau. Innovation is about connections - recognising a need in one domain, finding the solution in another and connecting the two to innovate a solution. I create innovative solutions to HSE problems by scouting for trends in other domains. As a chemical engineer with experience in process technology and plant management, I am able to achieve results in process safety as well as personal safety. I have lead HSE due diligence teams for potential merger and acquisition targets valued from 10s of millions to 10s of billions of dollars.
