About Peter Westbye

I’m a Surface chemist/ physical chemist with experience in both academic and industrial environments. My main motivation is to find solutions that are both economically and environmentally sustainable to existing market needs, as well as future needs trough conceptual development. I’m creative by nature, result oriented and a great team player with good multicultural knowledge. My core scientific competencies are studies of the interactions (i.e. molecular level as well as practical level) between solvents, solutes, hydrotropes, surfactants, polymers, fibers, particles and solid surfaces, in systems containing one or more of the before mentioned classes. I also have keen interest to learn new analytical techniques (limitations and opportunities) to study Solubility, diffusion, aggregation, adsorption, retention, release and penetration. Other core competencies that I possess are project management (leading global projects), technical marketing at customers as well as internal sales people, patent knowledge, idea generation, idea ownership, idea execution. Communicating results orally (presentations at conferences, and to higher management) or in written form (peer reviewed articles or internal reports) Application know how: Chemical industry, Agrochemical industry, Pulp and paper industry, Plastic industry, Pharmaceutical industry Specialties: Biopolymers, Polymer Technology, Surface and Colloid Chemistry, Solubility, Adsorption, Surface Modification.
