About Petra Wolf

Seasoned technical product leader with over 25 years of experience in various fields of computational linguistics, such as machine translation, chatbots, dialogue processing, question answering, information retrieval, semantic processing, speech recognition, conversational AI, and human-robot interaction. I hold a PhD from the University of Stuttgart as well as a Master of Arts in Computational Linguistics from the University of Regensburg. I have worked in both research and industry, managing complex software projects, since I enjoy product development and discovery. I am a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). I am passionate about applying linguistic knowledge and natural language understanding to create user-friendly and intelligent solutions. I lead multidisciplinary teams of of linguists, software developers and data analysts who work on creating huge knowledge networks, such as an ontology. This ontology is not only the barebone of the search and recommender technology for StepStone, one of the leading online job platforms, but is also used to standardise and classify all our data. In this way, data analysts can create smart data from big data so that we can gain valuable insights to further improve our products. I am intrigued by high-quality data and I strongly believe that AI with humans in the loop is the perfect combination for products eventually satisfying user needs.
