Petrina is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario and has completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. She has achieved a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber. She has experience working in private practice and school environments supporting children, teens, and adults with neurodiversity and comorbidities. Petrina believes in empowering clients to be the experts in their own treatment, prioritizing their needs in therapy, and assisting them in achieving the goals we set together. Petrina is driven to effect good change through collaboration and genuine connections with the clients she supports. Based on a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Petrina strives to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all clients of all ages. She focuses on each individual's unique strengths and nature, and creates therapeutic interactions in which clients feel comfortable and safe expressing their needs. Petrina takes an integrative approach, which allows her to draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to fit the unique and specific needs of each client. She works specifically within the frameworks of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Play Therapy. Petrina continues to increase her range of treatment options to meet the needs of both new and existing clients.
