About Peyton Cunningham

I am currently working as a therapist for youths and their families in private practice. I provide individual therapy and have a special interest in working with youths with complex trauma, mood dysregulation, impulse control and behavioral disorders, and attachment issues. I have received training in and utilize CBT and trauma-focused CBT techniques, DBT and emotion regulation strategies, behavior management and skill development, and play therapy and art therapy techniques. I also continue to train staff members in a residential setting in the Teaching Family Model, a behavior management program designed to teach youth skills using instruction, rewards, and consequences. I previously have experience in working with youths in a residential setting. I provided individual, group, and family therapy services and worked closely with juvenile probation and the department of child services. I enjoyed working with youths who have experienced trauma, including abuse, violence, loss, and human trafficking.
