About Peyton Frehner

Since 2017, I've been working at Weber State University's IT Service Desk as a Technical Support Specialist. My job has taught me how to work with different types of people to troubleshoot a wide variety of technical issues efficiently and professionally. I have experience assisting students, faculty and staff using a variety of communication methods; including phone, remote desktop connection, web chat, email, or in person. Our team provides Level 1 technical support for the University, offered as a free service to anyone affiliated with Weber State. We help callers or chatters with account issues, browser issues, issues with Weber State's website, basic network troubleshooting, or driver issues. Our office is also open for students, faculty or staff to bring their own devices in, where we can do even further troubleshooting. We are also involved with tracking University computer inventory, assisting with software deployments campus-wide, setting up Windows and Mac OS machines with department and user-specific software for multiple departments on campus. I believe that working at the IT Service Desk and studies in Computer Science have given me a great foundation for a career in IT. I hope to continue my career with an employer that will provide a challenge and encourage me to learn more and grow my skillset.
