About Peyton Hemmes

UCCS graduate with a B.S. in Health and Wellness Promotion and currently back in school for my AAS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. I had an internship with UCCS HealthCircle where I assisted in a local PWRMoves! class for those with Parkinson’s Disease. I did extensive research on how Parkinson’s can have unusual affects on the person with the diagnosis, as well as the care takers. I helped plan activities and moves for the class to do, and even conducted interviews and social groups for the class to discuss their symptoms and stories associated with Parkinson’s.I previously worked part-time as an MRI assistant for 3 UCHealth hospitals. My job duties include bringing patients down for their MRI and confirming patient information within HIPAA regulations, preparing the MRI room for scans by setting up IV starters and placing appropriate coils on the bed, creating a safe and comfortable environment for patients, and both measuring and injecting contrast during exams. I’m on route to graduate diagnostic medical sonography school in December of 2024. After graduation with my AAS, I plan to become registered in abdominal and OBGYN ultrasound and work as a Sonographer here in Colorado. My passion for Radiology has been present since I was young, and I’m excited for new experiences and opportunities throughout my career.
