About Phebe Ocran

With over 13 years of work experience in the healthcare sector, I am passionate about leveraging health informatics to optimize healthcare processes and systems, enhance patient outcomes, and reduce costs. I am currently pursuing my MS in Health Informatics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, while working as a Clinical Project Management Intern at NYC Health + Hospitals (NYCHHC), the largest public health system in the nation. I am motivated by the mission and vision of NYCHHC, which is to provide high-quality, accessible, and equitable care to all New Yorkers, regardless of their ability to pay. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have worked with a wide range of patients, family members, and staff in various settings, such as Cardiac/Telemetry, Natural Products, and Public Administration. As a Clinical Project Management Intern at the EITS Project Management Office within NYCHHC, I gain valuable experience in the dynamic healthcare system. I work with various healthcare professionals who are committed to teaching and imparting knowledge in my area of study. I assist with the planning, execution, and evaluation of clinical projects that involve the implementation, integration, and optimization of health information systems. I apply my skills and knowledge in health informatics, such as data analysis, system design, workflow modeling, user interface design, and project management, to support the improvement of clinical quality, efficiency, and safety. I also demonstrate effective communication skills, as I collaborate with project stakeholders, document project requirements and deliverables, and present project outcomes and recommendations.
