Background
About Phil Davis
There are so many opportunities in the electrical energy sector, and I am proud to be part of an organization leading the way for electrical professionals to be trained to the highest levels and to be able to move about regionally or internationally to work on big, exciting, meaningful projects. I am an industry training administrator and workforce development leader with over 20 years of experience in the electrical energy sector. I started my career as an electrician in 1993. I then took my experience as a trades person, and my passion for the apprenticeship training system to work for the Provincial Government. At the time, the government organization was known as the Industry Training and Apprenticeship Commission. My time there was important for me as I expanded my knowledge of the full range of trades careers. In 2002 I moved on to a senior administrative position providing technical training for the electrical utility environment throughout Western Canada. During this time, I was involved with several programs that were among the first in the electrical training sector. I had the opportunity to organize the delivery of training to a variety of international customers, including in Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. With a long-standing interest in business development as it relates to industry training, I earned my Executive MBA at Royal Roads University in 2008. I joined the Electrical Joint Training Committee in 2014 as a Program Manager and was promoted to Managing Director in 2018, responsible for oversight of the subsidiary E2 Inc, as well as the Joint Venture Mentorship Matters. Mine is a very rewarding career path and I look forward to continuing the promotion of and support to our industry. Our focus on expanding to encourage indigenous people, women and a more diverse workforce can only help to strengthen the electrical sector. Contact me anytime for opportunities to train and promote this industry locally or world-wide.
