About Phil Deakin

The overwhelming theme to my career is people. Serving them, helping them and writing for them. As a result, I understand the importance of putting customers first and ensuring that all business transactions, processes and operations are designed and geared towards ensuring maximum customer satisfaction at all times. I launched my freelance copywriting business seven years ago, working with global and local brands to provide articles, blogs, press releases, brochures, product descriptions and web content for the education, leisure, construction, healthcare, automotive, financial and retail sectors, to name a few. I'm currently working in-house for Machine Mart, looking after all product and PR-related copy and furthering the brand on the worldwide web. Working for a period with Pendragon in their Content Team, I covered brands as diverse as Rolls-Royce and Renault, Ford and Ferrari. At Buyrite Group, I managed Alpen Signs and TekFlo brand copy, I also completely re-wrote the inspiration section of their NeoTimber Decking page, and wrote their Cladding, Fencing and Balustrade websites, from scratch. I am an active member of my local community, regularly participating and volunteering at ParkRun and the local community carnival. A member of my local running club, I have twice competed in the Greater Manchester Marathon. In 2019 I undertook an ultra-marathon, completing the distance of 50km in 5 hours 47 minutes, placing 8th.
