About Phil Forrest

My recent consulting work has been focussed in the national security and defence sector where I have been operationalising policy. I use my experience and knowledge of military planning, operations, logistics and emergency management to help organisations improve their operations and perform more effectively and efficiently. In doing this, I recognise that it is important to understand how policy, processes and decisions impact upon people and organisations. My broader experience encompasses organisational and capability reviews, developing military doctrine publications and operating procedures for government agencies, police, fire and rescue, and aviation. My technical skills are augmented by strong planning, reasoning and communication skills which help me contribute value in my client and project teams. I understand the value of corporate knowledge and the processes required to record and publish that knowledge into useful, useable and time appropriate solutions. I adopt a practical people based approach to managing projects and enjoy helping my clients solve complex problems and reap benefits of improved performance.
