About Phil Gaechter

Phil is Managing Director and Advisor Consultant with the Private Wealth Advisory Group, responsible for consulting on Nuveen’s investment solutions to financial advisors and their clients, including institutional investors and ultra-high net worth individuals. He focuses on Private Client and Private Wealth offices within the Central region of the United States. Prior to his current role, Phil was Managing Director of Internal Sales and Service with the firm, leading a team of over 100 financial services professionals from Nuveen’s headquarters in Chicago. Before joining Nuveen, Phil started his career in 1990 as an Advisor Consultant with Federated Investors. In 1996 Phil joined Dreyfus Investments as a Regional Advisor Consultant in the Mountain Region supporting Separately Managed Accounts, Mutual Funds and Closed End Funds. Phil joined Rittenhouse/Nuveen in 2001 as an Advisor Consultant, lending support to Financial Advisors in the Mountain States. In 2006 he joined the Structured Products Group at Nuveen as a specialist in Closed End Funds and Exchange Traded Notes. In 2010 Phil was named Nuveen’s Western Sales Divisional Manager, responsible for coaching and mentoring 5 Advisor Consultants. Phil holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Boston College. He earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation and Investment Strategist Certificate (ISC) through the Investment Management Consultants Association in conjunction with the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. Phil currently lives in Chicago with his wife Carolyn and their three children.
