About Phil Golding

The UK faces a challenge: we talk a lot about ‘skills’, but far less about ‘jobs’. Training is vital, but on its own it doesn’t secure young people’s futures. It’s employment that helps them start good careers, learn on the job and fulfil their potential. Right now, the UK invests heavily in training the future workforce. But there’s still a big opportunity to make sure that investment translates into more young people starting their careers in real jobs – not just training for its own sake. At the same time, in a modern world, businesses often need more practical support or innovative solutions to bring in and nurture new talent. That’s the gap I’m focused on closing. I work with businesses, funders and policymakers to: Recruit, retain and develop entry-level staff – even employing apprentices directly on behalf of busy businesses, taking on the risk and the paperwork Design solutions that lead to real employment opportunities where young people can learn on the job and grow into good careers Translate ‘education speak’ into ‘business speak’ – keeping things simple and practical for employers If we want a fairer, stronger economy, we need to help young people start their careers in real jobs – and we need to make it easy and affordable for businesses to invest in future talent. 🤘 Get in touch if you'd like to chat.
