About Phil Loveday

An experience leader with over 20 years in senior leadership positions from assistant head through to 10 years as headteacher in two schools. Experience covers strategic leadership within schools, wider school development/improvement roles across local authorities using leadership experience, coaching and mentoring at all levels of leadership, assessment and data analysis roles, school timetable writing, multi million pound budget management, recruitment and development of teachers, health and safety lead experience, assessment and exam marking roles and marketing and communication through websites, social media and the press. Worked on school and leadership development with a school and headteacher in Dodoma, Tanzania since 2011 including three student volunteer visits, development of a social enterprise project led by sixth form students selling Tanzanian coffee with all profits going to pay for extra English and Maths lessons for students. Learning Swahili for a couple of years through Duolingo (it’s a slow process but I’m developing a word bank that will allow me to develop the language more quickly when I next visit for any length of time). I’ve enjoyed 33 years in education and I am still enjoying developing and growing my skill set wanting to make sure that my run up to laying my stick of chalk down (yes we used chalk boards when I started) is as much fun and developmental as the previous years have been. Passions - badgers, officiating field athletics, football, photography and family
