My knowledge, experience and achievements are broad and I have a proven track record of the successful delivery of complex technical solutions often requiring sensitivity, safety and the management of risk. These achievements span the worlds of commerce, industry, the military and the ‘third sector’ in leadership, managerial and administrative roles. They also include working internationally, across large, medium and small organisations and within a variety of cultural environments. ABOUT ME IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT My achievements in project management would not have happened without my ability to lead with sound strategic planning, effective risk management and both an appreciation of the importance and value of effective teamwork. I have the ability to inspire confidence in senior stakeholders, team members and external contributors when clear direction and alignment is necessary for the delivery of projects. ABOUT ME IN LEADERSHIP My introduction of interdisciplinary teams comprising technical authors and illustrators and experienced former pilots was highly successful - producing some of the best solutions ever at Pilatus Aircraft. Creating and positioning these teams as a core, it encouraged a continual flow of ideas, improvements and innovative solutions for tackling short-term problem during the development of projects. This, combined with my personal skill in technical writing helped produce acknowledged best practice manuals, still used throughout aerospace technical writing today. ABOUT ME IN STRATEGY MANAGEMENT I think and act strategically. I am good at understanding complex issues and can absorb, understand and simplify large volumes of data in specific fields of knowledge. I have the ability to apply creative problem-solving methods while understanding the need for sustainable solutions. I can challenge assumptions through question-led learning and focus on value or benefit driven answers. ABOUT ME IN COMMUNICATIONS I have received awards for public speaking, can speak German and have worked in four continents. I have the ability to communicate at all levels effectively to understand the needs of the people I work with and align a large group of stakeholders, with different ideas, opinions and approaches into a single, simply unified approach using agreed terminology and practices. ABOUT ME IN THE COMMUNITY I regularly work with local charities as both a volunteer and consultant to provide long lasting impact and benefits to charities and community groups.
