About Phil Marsh

At Carbonics, we are pushing the state of art in carbon nanotube FET (CNTFET) RF technology and we hold the world record RF results for CNTFETs. I am the principal device characterization and RF design engineer with our great team at Carbonics Inc and I design carbon nanotube RF amplifiers and characterization techniques to probe the physics of carbon nanotube devices. I do "full stack" RF development. From semiconductor device development/fabrication to RF circuit design to RF test to software engineering of the tools to measure and analyze measurement data. When good software tools for measurement and data analysis are lacking, I build them. When budget constraints preclude the optimum test systems, I develop the automation software to squeeze value out of low-cost equipment to meet the most challenging tasks. I developed optics chemical sensor devices at Metrichip and Colorado State University and have worked jobs for clients developing an antenna simulation as well as photodetector fabrication and development. To achieve the above, I resourcefully adapted open-source tools for optics, RF electromagnetic simulation (openEMS), Python, and RF circuit design (QUCs) and have the tools and expertise to address future RF and optics development challenges. Portfolio of skills: Development of fabrication technology - especially for semiconductor devices. RF characterization and modeling, RF/mm-wave circuit design via Keysight ADS and QUCSSTUDIO. GUI desktop software development with C++/Qt/MySQL for high performance data mining and analysis. Development of Python software/drivers to enable fully automated RF measurements, e.g. RF/DC wafer probing for RF S-parameters and distortion measurements. Development of on-chip optical waveguides for sensors using 3D electromagnetic solvers. Development and fabrication of photodetectors. Secure private cloud (OwnCloud server) setup. VNC/OPENVPN ZFS (on Linux) for fileservers
