About Phil Mickel

Recently graduated with a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have several publications where I used computational chemistry methods to model experimental collaborators' problems. During these projects I gained proficiency in data analysis, scripting, and working inside of a high-performance computing environment. I also worked in a wet-lab environment where I helped develop a synthetic pathway to access analogues of a probe. I helped test some of the initial analogues for inhibition of a protein-protein interaction that would inhibit autophagy - successful hit compounds have the potential for use as cancer cotreatments.
