As a Union Representative, I was responsible for representing members across the hospital, LTC and retirement sectors along with congregate settings within the health care industry. I was responsible for filing and processing grievances on behalf of the members. Research trends in the industry including recent interest Arbitration decisions to plan accordingly to present proposals on behalf of the members. Duties/Responsibilities -Plan and organize work and priorities in regular daily activities-Demonstrate creativity and initiative to suggest improvements and encourage positive results-Help or serve others to meet their needs. This implies anticipating and identifying the needs of members. and employers and finding solutions on how to meet them-Promote teamwork, cooperation and engagement from the membership to work toward better working conditions -negotiating new and renewal collective agreements for members across various sectors in health care -enforce and interpret collective agreements to ensure the rights of the membership are upheld -promote and encourage positive labour relations -coordinate and schedule meetings from negotiations, grievances, labour management and general membership meetings -ensure the rights of the members I represent are not being violated in accordance with applicable legislation and collective agreements In May of 2020 I completed a Human Resources Management Program at St. Lawrence College and completed the program with a 3.97 GPA with distinction. I am currently working towards obtaining my CHRP designation through the HRPA.
