About Phil Wilson

I am a chartered statistician, organisational psychologist and HR professional with particular strengths in L&D, OD and organisational research. My L&D experience covers the entire L&D cycle from agreeing strategy and identifying organisational needs to designing, delivering and evaluating solutions. It also includes designing and introducing competency frameworks, leadership and management development, talent management and succession planning. My OD experience covers organisation and culture change, organisational communication, performance management, team building and continuous improvement processes. As an organisational psychologist, my experience covers psychological testing and assessment for selection and development, engagement and employee surveys, organisational research projects involving bespoke surveys, and coaching and mediation.I have gained quality experience in a variety of public sector organisations, small businesses and large international blue chip companies, beginning with working in a steelworks at the start of my career. My public sector experience includes working for the Treasury, the Ministry of Justice, four quangos and working in academia. My private sector experience spans manufacturing, engineering and IT, and features 12 years spent working in the highly regulated pharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca. This breadth of experience has given me considerable adaptability and helps me to size up new situations and quickly make a value-adding impact. This has proved extremely useful since because I have been able to restart and finish projects that had ground to a halt. I am conscientious, hard-working, and results-focused.I am author of 40 published articles on HR and four research papers in employee engagement. I am business fluent in Spanish. I am also a skilled organist and classical and jazz pianist.I have CTC Security Clearance until November 2018.
