About Phil Wiser

Phil Wiser is the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Paramount, where he leads the company’s global technology strategy and multiplatform operations. One of Phil’s key priorities is driving an AI-first approach that enhances human creativity through advanced tools, enterprise platforms, and infrastructure. His team is rethinking enterprise architecture and operations across production, content creation, distribution, and broadcast. By developing a unified technology platform with intelligent workflows and data-driven decision-making capabilities, they are laying the foundation for the next generation of storytelling. Prior to Paramount, Phil served as CTO at Hearst, where he led the company’s shift to a cloud-first media environment. He previously held CTO roles at Sony Corporation of America and Sony Music, where he helped launch the company’s digital music businesses and forged the industry-first iTunes licensing deal. Earlier in his career, he founded Liquid Audio and Sezmi, two companies that helped pioneer commercial Internet-based media in music and television. He holds numerous patents in IP-based content delivery, recommendation systems, video delivery over the Internet, and cybersecurity. Phil holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He serves on the boards for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Sarah Lawrence College, and the University of Maryland's Clark School of Engineering.
