Professor of Philosophy with research interests in Epistemology (risk & rationality), history of early analytic philosophy, and philosophical topics in Behavioural Science and Decision Making. Philip is a scientific member of the Behavioural Science Centre at University of Stirling and collaborates with Behavioural Economists, Psychologists, and Statistician.He is also the PI on the AHRC-sponsored research project "Varieties of Risk"(~£780K) and collaborates on a research project with the Scottish Avalanche Information Service (SAIS) on risk perception and risk communication of rare and severe events. Philip also acts as a technical advisor to the service, and is a Board member of the Snow and Avalanche Foundation of Scotland (SAFOS). He runs CPD events on decision-making under risk for outdoor training centres, such as Glenmore Lodge and the Scottish Mountain Rescue Services.Philip currently acts as the Deputy Associate Dean of Research at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, University of Stirling with a focus on impact and knowledge exchange. Previously he was the Deputy Director of the St Andrews Stirling Philosophy Graduate Programme (SASP).
