About Philip Clarke

My passion for failure investigation stems from my continuing engineering curiosity and the desire to understand complex components, how they function and hence how they may fail during service.Over thirty years of material and component testing combines with my diverse materials and engineering experience to give me the depth of knowledge required to perform my role providing non-metallic material and component failure analysis to the Oil and Gas, marine and other industries.Joint industry engineering research project work (specifically in the fields of low temperature functional seal performance and the compatibility of drilling, completion and production fluids with oilfield polymers) has taught me to be critical of test observations and data, of test methodology and hardware development while remaining open minded and resourceful.Ten years in an ISO9001 Quality Manager role has enabled me to build the now well established PMFC Quality Management System so that projects and operational systems function in a consistent, controlled and documented way. This structure behind the business ensures that failure investigations remain rigorous and methodical.
